The Seventh Annual AtlAS Hybrid Lecture on the evening of April 28th 2022. Our Speaker this year is Sternford Moyo, President of the International Bar Association (IBA), Chairman and Senior Partner of one of Zimbabwe’s oldest and largest law firms, Scanlen & Holderness. The Lecture will consider “The Importance of International Dispute Resolution Mechanisms in International Commercial Agreements”.
IBA President Moyo is the first IBA President of African descent and is widely regarded as one of Southern Africa’s leading corporate and commercial lawyers. Mr. Moyo has held numerous senior IBA roles, including: Council Member, Management Board Member, Advisory Board Member and Chair of the African Regional Forum, Deputy Secretary-General for Southern Africa, Co-Chair of the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI), Trustee of IBA-established entities, such as the Southern Africa Litigation Centre and eyeWitness to Atrocities, and member of the Task Force on Illicit Financial Flows, Poverty and Human Rights.
The program will feature a welcome address by Emory Law School Dean, Mary Anne Bobinski, and a Tribute to Emory Law Alumnus and AtlAS stalwart Bernard “Ben” Greer (Alston Bird LLP, retired). The Lecture will be held on Emory’s beautiful campus. You may attend in-person or virtually. The reception begins at 4:45 pm in the Hunter Atrium, and the program will begin at 6:00 pm in Tull Auditorium, in the Law School.
